Amber Halsall
Amber Halsall - Botanical Artist & Instructor

Artist Biography
After completing a fine art degree at Canterbury Art College, Amber Halsall developed a keen interest in Botanical Art during a visit to Kew Gardens. The experience inspired her to paint subjects from nature that she holds dear, ultimately leading to her career as a full-time artist, which commenced in 1995.
Amber Halsall crafts intricately detailed artwork across various media. Drawing inspiration from the surrounding natural world, she focuses on autumnal and vegetable subjects, often discovered during walks in the countryside or harvested from her own garden. She relishes the challenge of capturing motion through a dynamic blend of loose and more detailed styles.
Amber submitted her initial artworks to the Society of Botanical Artists in 2004 and was granted full membership in 2009. She has also been a full member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art since 2022. Amber regularly showcases her artwork at the annual exhibitions of the Soc of Botanical Artists and the Society of Graphic Fine Art held at the Mall Galleries in London and was awarded the Great Art Award in 2014. She has exhibited her work in numerous locations, both domestically and internationally, including the USA, Europe and China.
In addition to her artistic endeavours, Amber shares her expertise by teaching botanical watercolour and coloured pencil techniques at various locations for a variety of art societies and private individuals throughout the country including running residential workshops at West Dean. In 2022 she joined SAGA cruise lines as an instructor, teaching many guests and giving personalized instruction in an encouraging environment.
She has recently been commissioned to write a book on Botanical Art, due to be published in 2026.
