Artist Biography

Yong Chen is an award-winning artist based in Boston, Massachusetts, as well as a professor of art, author, and illustrator. His paintings have been often exhibited internationally and are held in private collections worldwide.

As the founder of EnjoyingArt, a global artist community, Yong teaches, coaches, and supports students across the U.S. and in more than 21 countries. With over 30 years of teaching experience, he has led masterclasses and specialized courses in watercolor, portraiture, figure drawing, and landscape painting for students of all skill levels. His teaching balances technical mastery with personal expression, helping learners build confidence while discovering their own creative voices.

Yong has collaborated with colleges, community centers, and art societies, including watercolor organizations, to develop custom programs tailored to each community’s interests and goals. He promotes a relaxed yet systematic approach to art-making that encourages creativity, analytical thinking, and emotional balance.

Passionate about painting, storytelling, and teaching since childhood, Yong continues to nurture a caring and inclusive art community that welcomes learners of all ages and backgrounds.
