Description

Diarylide Yellow is a vibrant, warm watercolour pigment known for its intense, golden-yellow hue with a slightly orange undertone. With brilliant saturation and strong tinting strength, it creates bold, eye-catching washes, making it perfect for depicting sunlight, flowers, or autumn leaves. This warm, golden glow adds a cheerful, radiant quality to any composition.

With its semi-transparent nature, Diarylide Yellow allows for smooth layering in glazes or rich, opaque strokes in concentrated applications. It mixes beautifully with reds to create vibrant oranges or with blues to produce vivid greens. This versatility makes it ideal for landscapes, botanical scenes, and warm, natural tones in any artwork.

Notably, Diarylide Yellow offers excellent lightfastness, ensuring that its vivid colour remains stable and vibrant for years to come. Whether used alone or blended with other colours, it provides a brilliant highlight or deep, sunny mixes, bringing energy and warmth to any watercolour palette.

Diarylide Yellow - Just what I was looking for...

I had a specific project/image that needed a different yellow to my existing New Gamboge and Hansa Yellow Deep. This Diarylide Yellow was absolutely perfect. Deep, rich and brutally warm without treading on orange's toes. An absolute dream to use and the resulting surface was perfect.

Jackman's Art Darylide Yellow

I purchased a tube of Darylide Yellow watercolour paint on recommendation by a friend, and can honestly say I am absolutely delighted with the quality of this product. It has a wonderful warm hue to it, which seems to have some opacity, but when watered down has a beautiful translucency. I am so pleased to be adding this to my pallet, and would definitely recommend trying this beautiful colour.

A WARM Yellow

A really strong buttercup yellow - described as semi-transparent , which it is applied thinly. A dominant pigmnent. I am more inclined towards PY 154 with added orange (PO 62) but well satisfied with the high quality of the paint.
