Description:

Neutral Tint (P.Bk 6, P.B 15, & P.R 122) is a versatile, balanced grey watercolour pigment designed to deepen and tone down colours without altering their hue. This mixture combines Lamp black (P.Bk 6), Phthalocyanine blue (P.B 15), and Quinacridone Magenta (P.R 122) to create a cool, neutral grey that can be used for shadows, muted effects, and mixing with brighter pigments to achieve more subtle tones. It is ideal for artists who want a neutral colour that won’t shift the temperature or intensity of other colours in their compositions.

This pigment is semi-transparent and provides smooth, even washes that can create anything from deep, intense shadows to light, atmospheric veils. At full strength, Neutral Tint offers a deep, cool grey with a slight bluish undertone, making it perfect for darkening areas without introducing the starkness of pure black. Fantastic Neutral Tint

I’ve been blown away with the quality of Jackman’s watercolours and this is no exception.

Nothing neutral about the quality...

I use a lot of Neutral Tint watercolour paint... slightly less, it must be said, since I sensibly invested in a couple of 14ml tubes of Mark's 'Winter Bark' watercolour. Up until now I have been using this colour from four of the major manufacturers of artist's quality paint. I've just swatched out some of this and had a few doodles. Sceptics may view the following comments as over the top, but, as mentioned before, I use a lot of this colour and have been blown away, yet again, by the quality, application and richness of Jackman's pigments. It is simply the nicest version of this colour I've ever used.
