Raw Sienna (P.Y. 42 & P.R. 101) is a warm, earthy watercolour blend that combines yellow ochre (P.Y. 42) with a touch of red iron oxide (P.R. 101) to create a rich, golden-brown hue with a subtle reddish undertone. This combination results in a versatile pigment that is perfect for capturing the warm, sunlit tones of nature, such as landscapes, foliage, and soil, as well as adding depth and warmth to portraits and still-life compositions.

As a semi-transparent pigment, Raw Sienna (P.Y. 42 & P.R. 101) offers smooth, even washes that can be layered without overpowering the composition. In its full strength, it delivers a deep, warm brown with golden and reddish undertones, ideal for painting earth textures, natural scenes, and autumnal hues. When diluted, it softens into more transparent, glowing shades of golden yellow and light brown, making it perfect for underpainting, glazing, or creating subtle tonal transitions.
