Winter Bark is a rich, cool-toned dark brown watercolour created from a blend of Synthetic Iron Oxide (P.R 101), Lamp Black (P.Bk 6), and Phthalocyanine Blue (P.B 15). This complex pigment offers the depth of a near-black while retaining a natural brown warmth, making it the perfect neutral for adding contrast and realism to natural scenes.

At full strength, Winter Bark is a deep, shadowy brown with cool undertones—ideal for painting dense tree bark, moody shadows, and forest undergrowth. When diluted, it transforms into a versatile, soft grey-brown that mimics the weathered textures of driftwood, bleached fencing, and wintry branches. It sits beautifully between brown and black, offering a neutral tone that can shift subtly depending on how much water you use.

Semi-transparent and low-staining, this pigment provides exceptional control and blending capabilities.
