Description

Mulberry Watercolour is a rich, complex shade that blends the depth of reds and blues with a subtle touch of green, resulting in a muted violet tone with a mysterious, inviting character. The unique interplay of pigments creates a dark, velvety hue that evokes the deep tones of mulberry fruit, perfect for adding atmosphere and depth to your paintings.

  • P.R 177 (Anthraquinoid Red) brings a soft, deep red undertone, infusing the colour with warmth and sophistication.
  • P.B 29 (Ultramarine Blue) contributes a cool, granulating texture, providing depth and shadow with its rich blue hue.
  • P.G 7 (Phthalo Green) subtly cools the overall tone, balancing the red and blue to create a more nuanced, complex shade.

Known for its stunning granulation, Mulberry produces a textured, rustic effect as the pigments settle into the paper, especially the ultramarine's granulation, which adds a weathered look to your compositions. This unique property makes Mulberry perfect for creating atmospheric effects such as stormy skies, twilight scenes, or even abstract works where depth and richness are essential.

Great shadow hue.

Love this colour!

This a go-to colour for me. I use it to replace neutral tint. It plays nicely with other colours and lets them shine through, bringing a bit of brightness to the shadows. Use it full strength and it's enough for even the darkest darks.

Sumptuous colour

Love this colour and the richness, as always, of these pigments. Great for evening shadows, stormy skies and inner foliage.

Great paints

I tried the paints straight away at a painting holiday I have just tutored. They are lovely and creamy and the colours are excellent for my style. I have just ordered your granulating collection.
