Description

Phthalo Blue (Green Shade) is a cool, vibrant watercolour pigment made with Phthalocyanine Blue (P.B. 15:3), offering exceptional brilliance and clarity. This intense blue features a subtle green undertone, evoking the dazzling tones of tropical seas and open skies. Its high chroma and purity make it an essential choice for seascapes, landscapes, botanical studies, and abstract compositions.

Extremely transparent, this pigment is ideal for glazing and layering techniques, allowing artists to build depth and luminosity with ease. At full strength, it delivers a powerful, saturated blue, while diluted, it flows into fresh aqua and turquoise shades perfect for capturing atmosphere, reflections, or light-drenched scenes. The high staining property ensures lasting vibrancy, even in the thinnest of washes.

Phthalo Blue (Green Shade) offers outstanding lightfastness (AAA) and long-term colour permanence. It mixes beautifully with a wide range of pigments: blend with yellows for vivid greens or with reds and violets for moody purples and complex neutrals. This versatile, cool-toned pigment is a staple in any serious watercolour palette, ideal for both beginners and professionals alike.

Green Shade?!!

Great alternative to the usual (blue) suspects but a lot warmer than expected. I haven't got the red shade in Mark's watercolour but I'll settle for this one to do the job!

Woo-Hoooo Blue

SO much depth of pigment that goes the full gamut of deepest, brightest blue to the most delicate of washes. I'm a beginner and am transitioning to professional grade as my student grade paints run out. The difference is stunning and I am thrilled with the quality of Jackman's watercolours

Beautiful intense blue, Jackmans paint rewet veeery easily, and since this is an intense color I would recommend to use it with caution
